The AWS Dance Team in Seattle
On Saturday, October 10, more than 30 students participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event in downtown Tacoma. Annie’s Angels worked hard to prepare for the event during activity time and after school for the last month and a half by raising awareness and collecting funds through selling pink ties and pins.
Our volunteers set up decorations, worked in the registration booth and cheered for the walkers. Despite the rain, students maintained their positive attitude, cheering and motivating the walkers, honoring those affected by the disease and accepting donations.
On Sunday, October 11, the AWS Dance team rocked downtown Seattle! During the performance, they collected funds to help the American Cancer Society reach their goal of eliminating cancer as a major health problem and saving lives through advocacy. Some exciting news is that the AWS Dance team was asked by a student from South Seattle College to perform in her college and possibly collaborate with them!
We really appreciate everyone who has been supporting our efforts. Check out our Facebook pages to see more ways to get involved and make a difference in our community!
