The Upper School Girls’ soccer team kicked-off the 2019 season with four consecutive wins making Annie Wright history. Since the establishment of the USG soccer program, there has not been a team to achieve four straight wins. The Gators scored a whopping 12 goals against Muckleshoot Tribal on home turf, James Memorial Field. In addition to these record breaking scores, nine goals were scored by senior, Alexandra Bessler, adding a second win to the standings following Northwest’s forfeit the previous week.

“I am dazed with the fact that the girls on the team have only been playing for such a short amount of time together. The chemistry between them is an experience to witness and make for such entertaining matches,” said a parent of one of the players.

In the same week, the USG dominated the field with a 12-2 win. The Gators won 9-0 over Auburn Adventist Academy that week as well.

The team, coached by Tacoma Stars goalie Alex Megson, is made up of girls from all different grades and within different levels of soccer experience ranging from those who have played for the entirety of their lives to girls putting on cleats for the first time.
