Annie Wright welcomes fifth group of Spanish exchange students

Five students from Eurocolegio Casvi in Villaviciosa, Spain, arrived at Annie Wright last Friday for the fifth year of the Spanish exchange. For the first time, with the second year of the Upper School for Boys, a Spanish boy is participating in the exchange as well. All have joined the yellow tie sophomore class and will stay until October 19.

Exchange Sister: Julia Henning
Interests: listening to music, watch series (Netflix), hang out with friends, and ski (in Winter)
Motivations for participating in the exchange: “Because I want to practice and meet new people.”
Favorite part of the US so far: “That there is has a lot more shopping and stuff that in Spain we don’t have”
Fun Fact: “I know a little bit of Chinese.”
Violeta Morgana
Exchange Sister: Paisley Cristobal
Interests: “I am interested in Psychology. I want to learn about it when I get older. [And] I like to listen to music.”
Motivations for participating in the exchange: “Because I think it’s so interesting to visit other countries and to stay with other people and to learn other languages. The different cultures are really cool to learn about too.”
Favorite part of the US so far: The city, the pencils, and buses
Fun Fact: She loves cats and has two

Exchange Sister: Rachel Kennedy
Interests: dancing (modern), hang out with friends, surf
Motivations for participating in the exchange: “I’ve never been in the US before and I also [want to] learn English and I think it is a really good experience.”
Favorite part of the US so far: The yellow buses
Fun Fact: “I have a rabbit.”

Exchange Sister: Terah Gruber
Interests: tennis, padel (Spanish mini/pop tennis), skiing, surfing
Motivations for participating in the exchange: “Because I wanted to learn more English.”
Favorite part of the US so far: Pop Tarts
Fun Fact: “I know a little bit of German.”
Angél González Gálvez
Exchange Brother: Chai Kwa
Interests: hanging out with friends, playing video games, and playing waterpolo.
Motivations for participating in the exchange: learn more English, travel to other countries and learn about [US] culture
Favorite part of the US so far: “I like New York but I have never been there before, but I like the monuments and buildings.”
Fun Fact: “I like playing water polo, I like learning things and I am good playing video games.”
