Model UN student wins award at Seattle Conference

The Model United Nations activity group attended the Pacific MUN conference in November.

Sophomore Raven Chen was awarded with the “Best Position Paper” by the NATO committee for her writing on the 2017 Turkish referendum and the militarization of North Korea at the Model United Nations conference during the weekend of November 18-19 in Seattle.

“I feel it was very great to learn about foreign diplomacy and meet kids from other schools,” she said of the conference.

The Model United Nations activity team attended the Pacific Model UN conference, participating in debates about various global issues such as the Yemeni Civil War, environmental preservation, and food security.

This spring, MUN junior and seniors will travel to Anchorage, Alaska.
