On October 12 from 6:30-8:30, the Upper School for Girls activity Model UN will host the Tacoma mayoral candidates Victoria Woodards and Jim Merritt for a debate in the Great Hall at Annie Wright Schools.

The debate will begin with a 45 minute student forum, follow with a 20-minute Q&A, then conclude with a brief reception.

Annie Wright students, parents and faculty are invited to attend. Entrance is free, but guests must reserve tickets. The maximum tickets per registration is four.

Pre-Kindergarten to 12th Grade students may submit questions for the candidates.  

According to Model UN members sophomore Kayla Mathurin and senior Sophie Rockne, some issues this debate will cover are the economy, infrastructure, immigration, transportation, Liquid Natural Gas Plant, city safety and more.

The mayoral election is on November 7.
