Britnie Casillas has committed to the Pitzer College class of 2021 and will play volleyball for the Pomona-Pitzer* team as a setter starting next fall. Casillas will be the first in her family to attend college.

Casillas has been on Annie Wright’s varsity volleyball team all four years of high school, serving as co-captain for two of those years. With two champ titles and two state appearances, Casillas was named League MVP as well as All League First Team Setter in both 2015 and 2016.

Outside of Annie Wright, Casillas plays club volleyball and has been a team captain for seven years in a row, among four different teams. She has made three appearances at the USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championship (GJNC) and was selected for elite club’s top national team in each age group every year. For all of her hard work on the court, Casillas has received numerous most inspirational and MVP awards.

When asked what her future may hold, she cooly responded: “As long as I am in the medical field helping people and coming home to my beach house, huskies and husband, my aspirations will be fulfilled.” She then recalled: “Ever since I was little I pretended to be a doctor and would cover my dad head-to-toe in band-aids.”

Casillas has plans to either study pre-med or double major in pre-med and business.
